One of the most important advantages provided by Additive Manufacturing (AM) technologies, which have emerged very recently and continue to develop compared to traditional manufacturing methods, is the possibility of manufacturing workpieces with high geometric complexity. However, it is not possible for engineers who are accustomed to designing according to the limitations of old methods to reach the full potential of AM. Therefore, it is important to convey the advantages and limitations of AM technologies to new engineers in a correct and detailed manner. Engineers trained in this way will turn to AM technologies at the right time and in the right applications, and will be able to offer products to the market quickly by shortening the process from test to design compared to their competitors, and will also reveal important advantages such as increasing part performance with new functions thanks to high geometric complexity.
Based on this idea, and also aware of the lack of Turkish publications in the field of additive manufacturing in engineering education, this book, which was created with the efforts of valuable academicians and engineers who hold important positions in this field in many different universities or companies in our country, will guide the new generation of engineers in different areas such as design, process development, AM applications, and process modeling for AM.
With the hope of shedding light on all curious minds…
