Introduction to the Midwifery Profession

Being one of the oldest professions, the midwifery profession is a profession that follows innovations and maintains its continuity throughout history in the light of evidence. In this book, we tried to reveal more clear information about the legislation and our responsibilities at the national level in order to get to know our profession, and to discuss many issues such as the history of the midwifery profession, educational background, philosophy, position in the society, role in the team, and organizational status. In our book, Introduction to the Midwifery Profession, we have revealed the scope and limits of our profession. We hope that it will be a good resource for midwives and midwifery students who are new to midwifery to get to know our profession.
