At the heart of all health-related professions, care helps people find meaning in their lives. In this direction, care is at the center of the midwifery profession, which provides health care to the individual, family and society. Care practice for midwives requires mutual communication and cooperation between the midwife and the healthy/sick individual. Even just the presence of midwives can make healthy/sick individuals feel safe. For this reason, midwifery students should understand the meaning and importance of midwifery care during their professional education and increase their theoretical knowledge, skills and competencies on this subject.
How to offer humanistic care and compassion is gained through midwifery training and continues to mature through experiential practices.
