Academician-author, who is an expert in the field of Psychological Services, Prof. Dr. Binnur Yeşilyaprak's latest book, "SELF THERAPY", continues to shake the readers since the day it was published.
In the 600-page book, which was published by ‘Nobel Kültür Yayınları’ in August 2021 and went into its second edition in the first three months, and the third edition four months later; The author examines the limitations of how 'social software' in our culture can affect people and bring to their life, with concrete evaluations through their own life story, but only in a fictional novel. In this respect, it can be defined as a period narrative that reveals the cultural life values of the author's years of growth, a developmental process that examines the periods that people spend from childhood to adulthood and the influences that provide the formation of personality, and a psychotherapy book with its aspects that deal with the individual's mental problems and try to explain and heal them.
The book has a multidimensional and multi-layered fiction with its aspects that describe an experiential therapy process that the author performs with the identity of "therapist" and "client" in order to be free from the obstacles and limitations created by the value judgments of gender roles transferred from generation to generation.
With these features, there is no doubt that the book will be interesting and useful not only for people related to psychology and psychological services, but also for those who want to understand themselves and who want to confront their own past and problems. The author introduces his book with these three words:
“I lived. I wrote. I am liberated.”
Note: The author donates the royalties and sales revenue of the book to NGO’s defending "Women's Rights".
